At the Radisson Collection Hotel Santa Sofia, in Milan, the journey does not end, but turns into a continuous exploration, which expands the gaze and satisfies the desire for unconventional elegance and comfort.
Studio Atelier P with Alessandro Mario Cesario design the common hospitality areas of the hotel, transforming them into prismatic places that reveal multiple suggestions and perspectives. They do so by drawing inspiration from the discreet and intimate atmosphere of Anglo-Saxon hospitality, enlivened by a mix of eclectic elements that suggest experiences, memories, passages from one part of the globe to another. Atelier P with Alessandro Mario Cesario choose a green palette as the way to connect all these emotions, to recall the history of the old Milanese trams and taxis of the Sixties right from the hall, where color permeates the whole environment, underlining the luminescence of the sign in the center of the reception.
Concreta, interior contractor specialized in the production of customized furniture supplies for accommodation facilities, has created the custom-made furniture for all the common areas based on the studio’s project, providing a turnkey service. A chromatic guide that meets the mirroring of the marble-effect Florim stoneware on the floor and on the columns, and continues up to the Sofia Kitchen & Bar. The Cocktail Bar is housed in the former courtyard of the building and has the advantage of perfectly aligning with the high aesthetic and functional standard offered by the architectural project by Studio Marco Piva.
The austere character of the building, the former headquarters of Allianz, it fades away inside by the soft shapes of the seats and tables inspired by Alessandro Mario Cesario and made by Concreta based on a design by AP. The soft textures of the jacquard fabrics express their fine elegance and more generally the strong tactile dimension that Atelier P, thanks to the expert eye of the Interior Decorator Alessandro Mario Cesario, gives to the refreshment and lounge area.
A private dimension is sculpted in an area intended for a heterogeneous, demanding public, who does not give up seeing the charming hotel as an appendix to their home or workplace. For this project the Architecture Firm based in Milan, designs every interior furnishing element to be found in the lobby, restaurant and cocktail lounges up to the swimming pool relaxing are on the 4th floor. From the creative trail marked by AMC emerges a sense of living that is nourished thanks to a particular lighting technique, such as the 1930s lampshades by Concreta designed by AP on the bar counter and the large chandeliers made to a design by the Studio; to the curved embrace of velvet sofas, armchairs and stools – always custom-made – and to the wallpaper.
A maximalist style that is an antidote to excessive formalism and manages to create truly extraordinary micro-worlds, such as the private room, also on the ground floor. Privacy is guaranteed by a fabric divider that recalls Gio Ponti’s folding doors made by DOOOR and takes up the floral motifs created with INKIOSTRO BIANCO on the walls, while glass chandeliers with Rothschildbicker trimmings descend on the long, linear table by Taula Interior AP drawing. With the right amount of gambling, the lobby is also shaped, an enveloping area divided from the coworking area by a ceiling-height vintage bookcase. On this side, Radisson Hotels faces between Corso Italia and Santa Sofia. With the elevators, framed by a shelving that houses numerous volumes, photographs and other memorabilia, that is the result of AMC’s expert research, you arrive at the ISSEI Rooftop, a restaurant and cocktail bar that marries Japanese and South American flavors. The multi-ethnic route dictates the guidelines of the concept, which seeks elements of continuity with some architectural details as well as with the table. The striped wallpaper wants to join the texture of the ceiling, also striped, and dictates the color palette: here the warm tones of raw earth dominate, the exotic colors that light up in contrasts with black and orange. The mood winks at the 1920s, bringing a mahogany counter, chandeliers and floor lamps with hats back into vogue. The tables by Concreta designed by AP are art déco and dialogue with the sideboards in glossy briar from the middle of the last century. Spacing in time and space, this is the hallmark of the combination ALESSANDRO M. CESARIO and Atelier P, who manage to merge two sides and two cultures at the antipodes: the precision of the Rising Sun and the warmth of South America. Each vision resulting from the vision of AMC and from the pencil of the Milanese designers is created by CONCRETA, interior contractor, a point of reference in the hotel sector. Research, development, technology and personalized customer service have allowed CONCRETA to continue to guarantee manufacturing quality, in compliance with deadlines and budgets for total customer satisfaction, the basis of the company mission. Lastly, the restyling project includes a stop on the fourth floor. The exteriors will be the protagonists with an open-air, raised swimming pool, accessible by means of a wooden platform and around it.
